What We Do See pictures of us in action!

In 2003, which was the first official year of the project, we have run the following projects. This is based on 10 full time and 1 Part time Health of Men staff and of course the various staff from other agencies supporting the projects.

1) Housing project work including health screening with socio-economic class 5 users.

2) School projects including Puberty and body changes, Year 6 Upper School projects, projects with young men excluded from Mainstream education, running and supporting the Teenage Information Centre and Teenage Advice Centre in a Keighley school, Year 8 Testicular Self Examination, Anti Bullying Projects, organising and supporting the The Staysafe project

3) youth projects including Junior Football Tournaments, Oakbank Fathers Day Sports Event, South Ward Youth Project, Highfield Boys Group project, Gardens for all project, Stockbridge youth group

4) Drop-in projects including Council of Mosques, men’s health drop in, The lad’s room young peoples health drop- in, Homeless Health drop in sessions, TFD Centre Holmewood Estate Drop in for young people, Highfield health lifestyle centre drop in for young people, Leeds rd Barbers Shop drop-in, Health drop-ins at a community information shop, Holycroft health clinic drop in

5) Male sex outreach project in a male sauna, Outreach work in pubs, Pub Quiz Work

6) various training days including, Challenging Attitudes to homophobia, Men’s health what’s it all about seminar, Sex and relationship education for boys, workshop, Working with young men workshops, Securing health together, Rehabilitation Seminar, Chemical Warfare in the Workplace

7) One off projects and promotional events including, Young peoples sexual health fair, Forum theatre for bullying-bullying, Family Health Day, Basketball Barmy, Engineering students’ presentation on Testicular cancer, Healthy Living Day, Highfield Clean up Day Project, Diabetes National week, Mosque stop smoking event, Blood Pressure Awareness Campaign, Fit 4 work outreach programme, Shopping Centre Showcase, Health fair at Hull prison Workers Memorial Day, Health day, Healthy Living Day.
